China Skies 05:42
I want to lie with you Lose track of time with you In a small double bed Let's get away. I want to dive into Your love, like an ocean bluer Then the sky On a perfect summers day. Open your windows wide My hearts an empty page I want to let you write on it. Yehyeh Haven't seen China yet Or the mountains of Tibet But I've seen your silhouette In the evening light. I don't need more then this Your lips were meant to kiss Over and over Morning, noon and night. I want to taste the sweat When we've been making love Lay my head on your chest. Oh now There's a bird on the wing A promise of spring Sweet rain let the heavens open wide When I look in your eyes I see China skies The touch of your hands My bare feet in the sand All the things that I love most in this life The color of your eyes, just like China skies. I want to lie with you Make one where we were two It's in those moments That I feel alive. I want to meld with you Let go, I want to lose Myself And find it in your eyes. Words rush away from me On a see of love When our bodies meet. Oh now... There's a bird on the wing A promise of spring Sweet rain let the heavens open wide When I look in your eyes I see China skies The touch of your hands My bare feet in the sand All the things that I love most in this life The color of your eyes, just like China skies.

about

An invitation to Peter Gabriel’s Legendary Recording Weeks in 1992, when he opened his studio doors to 75 international artists from over 30 countries, resulted in Carole’s meeting with Simon Emmerson, Out of their collaborations (see Real World Records) grew a partnership that led to the co-production of her first solo album, “Garden Of The Senses”. It’s combination of structured songs over organically driven beats and groves with African, Celtic, Brazilian, Rock and other influences was an exploration of new territory for Carole, and a platform from which Simon and engineer Martin Russell went on to create the Afro Celt Sound System.

REVIEW
Carole Rowley has one of the most sought-after voices in popular music today. In the studio or on stage she’s sung with the likes of Van Morrison, Dave Stewart, Mick Jagger Peter Gabriel, and a long list of successful popular artists. Her songs have been recorded by Whitney Houston, Patti Austin, Bob James, and others.

With its 12 atmospheric, airy tracks, Carole Rowley’s album, Garden of the Senses, richly illustrates her talent. Here, she courts the universes of world and classical music with a romantic fervor, drawing on the ample gifts of some of the most innovative musicians working today: Michael Brooks, Simon Emmerson, Kudsi Erguner, Lukoa Kanza, Ayub Ogada and cellist Caroline Dale.

Rowley’s songs are dreamy, intimate, passionate dances of delight — exquisite portraits created by an epicurean soul. Garden of the Senses is a magnificent discovery, filled with infinite riches.
